remember.

met this woman (Erin) in anthro last wed and she was telling me how she was part of the Leaders Today organization. SOOO cool! wow. the stuff that she's said and done.

one thing that she had said really touched me. -> in Haiti, when someone leaves, dies or just goes away, they say, (in direct translation) 'remember.' in comparison, here, we say stuff like 'i miss u'.

however, their meaning of 'remember' is along the lines of 'i (will) remember the times (good/bad) that we have shared'. that just puts more ... feeling? meaning? ... into those few words. as opposed to the stuff that we say here.

just something to think on. i mean, the words that come out of our mouths, are they just for the sake of hearing ourselves talk? or do we really mean what we say? we're constantly surrounded by superficiality to the point that it's so easy to just slip right into the crowd and do the same. especially as Christians, shouldn't we step up to the plate and NOT follow the crowd? set the example? be true in what we say? and yet it can be so hard to do.

food for thought... do U mean what u say? or is it just the usual 'surface' talk?

on a side note, they're gonna start up a club here on campus. gonna see what i can do to help, even if it's not much. =)
